Rawalpindi: During the Corps Commanders Conference, the military leadership appreciated the progress of the Afghan reconciliation process and expressed hope that talks between the Afghan factions would begin soon.

A statement issued by the Director-General (DG) of the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar on the social networking site Twitter said that the corps, headed by Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, The Commanders Conference took place.

According to DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar, the geostrategic and national security situation was discussed during the Corps Commanders Conference. According to a Pakistan Army spokesman, the Line of Control (LOC) and Pak-Afghan were discussed during the Corps Commanders Conference. Borders and the internal security situation in the country were also discussed, while the progress of the Afghan reconciliation process was also appreciated and it was hoped that talks between the Afghan factions would begin soon.


According to the Director-General of Public Relations, Pakistan Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed satisfaction over the operational readiness during the Corps Commanders Conference and appreciated the efforts of the civil administration to co-operate in the face of coronavirus and taddle heart threats. The Army Chief directed the commanders to take the necessary steps.

The Chief of Army Staff said that steps should be taken for the security and safety of the people during Muharram while Corona SOPs should be implemented during this time.
