Mahendra Singh Dhoni announces retirement from international cricket




New Delhi: Former Indian cricket captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni has announced his retirement from international cricket.

He has announced his retirement on Instagram, a popular photo-sharing application, but did not specify the format of the game he is retiring from. Thanking the fans, he said that from then on, I should be considered retired from the game.


It may be recalled that Mahendra Singh Dhoni had already retired from Test cricket when he was not part of the Indian team after the 2019 World Cup. Dhoni is one of India's most successful captains, having won the T20 World Cup in 2007, the Champions Trophy in 2013 and several Asia Cup tournaments.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who made his debut in 2004, scored 10,773 runs at an average of 50 in 350 ODIs, while after representing India in 98 T20 Internationals, he managed to score 1,617 runs at an average of 37.5.
